Are you looking to work in the busy and developing theatre environment? St Georges Hospital is currently seeking enthusiastic staff to come and join its theatre department. We have 29 operating theatres across multiple areas and a stand-alone day unit. St Georges Hospital is committed to providing Outstanding Care, Every Time to our patient.

We are currently recruiting Anaesthetic Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners to work in our Major Trauma theatre complex in order to provide safe, high quality care to our patients. We provide a range of specialities, including Neurosurgery, E.N.T., Vascular, Trauma, Maxillofacial, Orthopedics, Upper GI, Colorectal Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, and General Surgery.

It is an exciting time to join us – our Theatres Transformation Programme is underway, and we are making changes to ensure that we are efficient and safe in our work. The programme runs in partnership with the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, which supports innovative ways to improve health and healthcare. With its own Quality Improvement Academy, St Georges Hospital will help and support your project!

We will assist your development every step of the way, making sure that you are equipped with the skills needed to meet every potential challenge. We will provide you with the highest standards of training and support on the job, through:

  • Regular meetings with your matron
  • Mentor support during your induction and orientation
  • Support from your team leader and senior staff in the clinical area on shift
  • Protected teaching time each week
  • Practice Educator support
  • Competency based in-house training

In order to apply:

You will need to be an RN1 or Registered ODP. You will have a flexible attitude, excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy theatre department. There are various shift patterns covering the 24/7 period. There is also a requirement to participate in night and weekend working.
