Due to a recent management restructure, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at St George’s Hospital in the newly created Deputy General Manager roles (Band 8B).

The roles available are within two separate services: The Renal, Haematology and Oncology Directorate and the Directorate of Specialist Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and manage on at least one service area in a large complex teaching hospital.

The Deputy General Manager roles are crucial to the successful operating of the Directorates and have a broad remit covering all aspects of operational management, as well as project management and service improvement. The post requires working in a triumvirate with medical and nursing colleagues, as well as supporting the General Manager and other members of the team with a wider remit.

The successful candidates will have previous management experience within the NHS, with a track record of delivering and improving services and performance against standards. The role will require significant leadership experience and a highly motivated and talented individual who has excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care.
