An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Research and Therapies nurse to join our expanding, dynamic MS service working across both the MS clinical and research teams. The post will offer the opportunity to be involved in commercially sponsored clinical studies using novel drugs one day per week whilst also providing an expert nursing service managing specialist intravenous and oral therapies for patients with MS and other neuroinflammatory conditions. They will also support the MS Clinical Nurse Specialists in delivering high quality care to patients with MS.
The successful candidate will be a first level registered nurse with at least three years post registration experience. Experience of neurology (preferably MS) is desirable. An interest in clinical research and experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner is essential. They will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Treatments for MS are a rapidly developing area and it is an exciting, growing field to be working in.
You will have access to in house educational programmes as well as supported training from the MS Society and the MS Trust.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
