Gunning & Holdsworth Wards - (Trauma & Orthopaedic)
St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust has recently become one of London’s Major Trauma Centers. The trauma & orthopaedic unit consists of two busy acute wards as Gunning & Holdsworth which is 28 and 22 bedded respectively, currently specializing in a range of trauma and elective orthopedic surgery including complex neuro, plastics joint surgery and pelvic trauma. The ward is well supported by clinical nurse specialists, trauma coordinators and MDT. We offer polytrauma courses, orthopaedic courses and acutely unwell courses to develop in this specialty after the perceptorship program.
Across all areas we aim to provide a service which is tailored to the individuals’ needs as well as ensuring our staff are supported through regular clinical supervision time, education programmes and on-going professional development. The team’s Practice Educators and Senior nursing teams are committed to the education and development of all staff, and will provide a structured orientation programme in which candidates will work through competency and Preceptorship pathways to enhance the new skills being taught.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
