Clinical Teaching Fellow and Honorary Clinical Lecturer

As part of its commitment to delivering high quality clinical placements to medical students, the Trust wishes to appoint a Clinical Teaching Fellow in General Medicine or General Surgery.

Applicants are invited to apply for the post, which will normally be for a period of one year, renewable by mutual agreement. The post includes teaching undergraduate medical students and undertaking clinical (including clinical research) typically with duties at ST3 (or above) level, however candidates at Core Training and above with an interest in undergraduate medical education will be considered. The clinical element will be tailored to the successful candidates’ needs.

Applicants should demonstrate broad clinical experience and preferably hold full MRCP / MRCS or equivalent. Applicants with experience in teaching and a wish to continue a career in academic medicine would be preferred.

The posts are not accredited for specialist training but support for study leave will be given. Therefore, postholder are encouraged to complete audit and research projects and to submit papers / posters.
